#8: a straw triangle

this looks like another kinder creation - but it's not. you were much older when you made this in school. maybe it was part of a geometry/christmas activity or something. it's constructed of equal lengths of drinking straws glued together at their ends. at one time, round red sticky dots on the front and back of each point covered up the glue. once, there was a hanger on it. now it's just a white triangle and we insert it onto the end of a pointy branch on the christmas tree. it's not very fancy any more but is a good example of why you need to know all these stories. it would be so easy to overlook this ornament. so easy to just throw it away. but i never will.
